I have an ASUS a7n8x motherboard which has a front side bus of 333mhz. In this motherboard I have placed a 512 chip of DDR ram which is supposed to pc3200. Now, when I start my PC and POST runs, it shows my RAM is clocked at 200mhz. I thought the ram chip was 400 mhz, in which case I figured it would run at the speed of my motherboard. I'm an idiot. Can someone help?

You can change the speed of your RAM in your BIOS

You'll have to find out how to enter your BIOS (this is normally done by pressing delete, F1, or F2), then find the menu that has your RAM speed setting.

It is also possible that particular Asus board has DIP switches, I don't know

If you are a technical idiot, I really can't help you beyond that because I am not familiar with that particular board.
