Is quoting a source advertising?

I found a quote I liked that happened to support a point I was making. As is customary I referenced my source and provided a link.

What is the secret?

The secret is about the laws of attraction and how we 'attract' things to us with our thoughts, whether they be positive or negative thoughts.

The phrase 'be careful what you wish for' is the essence of the secret!

I have always known through experience that thoughts can manifest things, and have used visualisation techniques to achieve results. I have also sadly noticed how my negative thoughts can manifest too, if I spend too long thinking about them!

I did think this was an unknown phenomenon, but apparantly it is not. It is well known amongst the rich and successful who may have used this knowledge to get what they wanted.

There is a film about this 'phenomenon' called 'The Secret'.

Isn't posting the same thread with the same link once enough? Is "The Secret" that important? You do know it was created by an Australian TV producer don't you? Greatest World Commercial if I remember correctly. Really annoying show where one of the Daddo brothers kept making inane jokes and his sidekick was a dog. I presume you are talking about the film when you say 'the secret' as those words are not owned by that company or that producer. The error Vslayer made was assuming those words are exclusive to the film. They are NOT!

The quote you used was a plug for the movie. Had you read it, you would have realised it right from the get go.

And it was not the quote that you gave a link to. The 'quote' does not even appear in the link. So it can very well be construed as being an advertisement for the film.. especially in light of the fact that half the quote actually discusses the film and its message.
