Does it work anymore? Reply button and the arrow button next to it take me to the full reply box. Am I the only for whom this is not working?

Shame...quick reply was a time saver for an uber lazy shit like me.

I think you're using the wrong reply button, it's the one at the bottom of the reply box - one says 'post quick reply' and the other says 'go advanced'. at the top of the box is the 'post reply' that has the little arrow. I tried that and it went to the full reply thing.
Hope what I've written has made sense.

As Teri said, you have to hit "Post Quick Reply" under the box where you type quick reply. If you hit "post reply," it brings up the same box that the "go advanced" button will.

or apparently you can just hold down 'alt' and hit 's' to get the same function ...

No....the little arrow use to take you to quick reply by quickly quoting the message in quick reply...it doesn't do it anymore.

Otherwise quick reply works fine when I do not have to quote anyone.
