View Full Version : Question: baby and god. Semon 02-25-06, 06:36 PM A baby born, he don't in god, then he dies before he know what is god. Will he be burnt in hell forever? :( TruthSeeker 02-25-06, 06:39 PM Obviously not. Semon 02-25-06, 06:44 PM wyh? but I heard everyone who don't believe in god will be burnt in hell forever. Renrue 02-25-06, 06:53 PM Semon, If this is referring to the Christian god, then I can answer this (even though I am no Christian). I have conversed with many Christians, such as Protestants, Catholics, and Mormons, and they all state the same thing. Babies go to heaven, even though they do not know god and Jesus. It's what I call a free ticket when I heard it. It would have been best if you had posted this in the Religion forum. Though, usually the first few posts are by athiests who usually start a thread off with god doesn't exist. But there are a few Christians around there somewhere. [Renrue] Light 02-25-06, 06:59 PM A baby born, he don't in god, then he dies before he know what is god. Will he be burnt in hell forever? :( No religion that I know of supports that thought. The majority of them have a factor that they call something like "age of accountability" and prior to that age no child is accountable for what they do/don't do believe or don't believe - yet. Ophiolite 02-25-06, 07:03 PM On this basis Herod was doing the children he had slaughtered a big favour. That seems kind of screwy. Light 02-25-06, 07:45 PM On this basis Herod was doing the children he had slaughtered a big favour. That seems kind of screwy. Not to get too deeply into this but in a sense you are correct, Ophiolite. The Christian God places little value on the body but rather on the soul. He does not like to see his people mistreated, though. I think I shall leave it at that. :) przyk 02-25-06, 08:40 PM Surely after 100,000 years in Heaven your brief 70 years on Earth would fade to a distant memory and seem kind of pointless anyway... c7ityi_ 02-25-06, 09:17 PM The Bible says: The kingdom of heaven belongs to little children. Like animals, little children have not yet separated from God -- from themselves. Semon 02-25-06, 09:38 PM What is there in the heaven? Ophiolite, everything is not what it seems. Ophiolite 02-26-06, 04:19 AM c7ityi, nothing is what it was. Victor E 02-26-06, 05:04 AM Let us remember, that those without sins shall reach the heaven. Has babies commited sins? No, probably babies are the most innocent living creatures... And therefore they shall go to heaven. Varda 02-26-06, 07:23 AM i think religion only starts to count when the person is capable of knowing what is good and what is evil, and is able to make the choice when i was about 6 i made fun of a boy because he had pissed himself and he was very embarassed. my father talked to me about it and made me realise that i knew that what i did was wrong and that i had responsability for my actions... i remember i thought uh oh, i could go to HELL :o :P Semon 02-26-06, 09:03 AM Semon, heaven is a rest state, to be in peace with oneself, the universe. Ophiolite, everything is not what it seems. Is that state a constant state? will I have the change of feelings? What is that different from a dead stone? c7ityi_ 02-26-06, 09:21 AM Heaven is non-existence (absolute existence). A stone is not "dead", it is not resting, it is constantly struggling to reach the unity which it rejects because it wants to exist (consciousness, repulsion, fear). Heaven is right here, right now, in this present moment, but people love the past and fear the future, so they don't see the presence. People reject their goal, the reality, so they're always born on earth again. This fear of ourselves also 'helps' us from not falling into nothing when falling to sleep. The universe exists because we 'want' it to exist. |
