Alongside each member's ignore list is a buddy list. I have added a few people on this list but haven't noticed any special features. The only thing I've noticed is the user's username has a plus sign after it under Currently Active Users on the main page and on this page (http://www.sciforums.com/online.php).

What should I know about this buddy list? Does it have features that are currently disabled? Is it something we want?

The plus sign is only there when you are not on their buddy list.

Once the other party reciprocates and places you on thier buddy list a bond is formed between you that bridges space and time....forever! So choose wisely.

It also furnishes you with their home address, bank account details and engages the mutual telepathy option.

Could I control what they do too? Like, could I make them put on a red tutu and slam their face on their keyboard to the tune of "God Save the Queen"?

I presume the buddy list is like an online address book; clicking on your buddy list would give you quick access to the members' PM or AIM or messenger.

From the Members UserCP (http://www.sciforums.com/usercp.php):

You may limit the receipt of private messages to just moderators and those on your buddy list. Other members who attempt to send messages to you will be told that you have disabled private messaging.
