Public Enemey #1= The Black Man

I am a 24 African American male who will be marrying a 20 year old Somalian girl in December. Since she and I began talking seriously, rumors have been going around her town that she might be marrying a non-Somali. Since we have confirmed our wedding the rumors became facts and many people in her town knew. Everyone began to warn her, advise her, scold her etc. for marrying a non Somali, they however did not base anything on my character. Well to get to the point Somalia is one of the poorest countries on earth, my uncle married a girl from Bangladesh 2 years ago and received more opposition than I am receiving and Bangladesh is also one of the poorest countries on earth. Many of my uncles have married white women, puerto rican etc and received similar opposition. My point is that I personally believe that the Black American male has the worse image on earth. They are looked at as the most inhumane, immoral, Misogynistic man on earth. And every father fears the daughter marrying a black man. Im only throwing the idea out there to see do you agree with me, disagree and why?

But where is any proof besides what you belive is true? You give nothing to provide any evidence that what you are trying to say is a fact. If you can't support your beliefs then how can you even think the way you do? :shrug:

But anyway, perhaps you should be thankful that there's enough freedom in the world that people are still permitted to hate whoever they want to hate. Or would you like it better if people were so restricted that they couldn't even hate who they want?

Of course I cant based this off of fact. There are no facts to really support what I am saying there are only widely circulated opinions and beliefs. I did post this in the Free Thoughts section. And I am talking about nearly ever non-black father fears their daughter marrying a black man not black ones. Also I'm not saying the world should be restricted where no one can hate no one, all I'm saying is how did it get like this and why. My theory is because Black Americans do not really have a culture or an identity (which was destroyed through slavery) and the main image of them circulated throughout the media is a negative one.

 

I've seen only a few Africans in my life, don't believe any of them was American, but the African American music videos that I've seen might explain why no-one outside their culture would want to marry their daughter to an African American - abuse of drugs, women, guns, dirty language, fashion that might make you blind, etc.

 

Since I am not a black man I cannot say much about what they might feel. I can say that you are entitled to your opinions just as everyone else is. I can understand why you think the way you do and in some circumstances I agree with what you say however times are a changing and many blacks today enjoy a college education, good jobs and are a viable part of the working community.

 

I think everyone just hates americans in general

I am from Brazil and I married an american man. I created a lot of controversy in my family for doing that. But they trust my judgment, and after they all got to know him, everything was fine.

man what a pure naive individual to think he is some sort of public enemy and especially number one. Just naive and stupid is more like it. Society could care less of skin color, nowdays your skin is measured by the money you make...not the liters of tears from the song of "I am the oppressed one and hurt by evil evil white men"

 

If the title is true (Public Enemey #1= The Black Man), Obama would not be
where he is today. Don't focus on the hatred, if you are good person, you'll
make good husband, regardless of your skin colour.

I live in the midwest and go out of my way to be nice to the black folks I encounter. Usually it's not well received.
Now when I was in South Carolina they were nicer to me than most of the white people.
