As of this post I darksidZz challenge 2 members to debate on the topic "Does Astrology Work?" Standard rules will apply.

Currently my argument will be that it simply cannot function as a viable system for anything.

I agree

That's nice, but I need people who don't agree so that we can debate about it :D

I doubt you will find an abundance of those types of people here.

It doesn't really work....But it can be correct...By chance.

M*W: People want to believe that myths are really true. We've been doing that ever since the skies were first observed by ancient humans. Astrology charts planetary trends, and that part of it is legitimate, but foretelling one's life occurrence or future happenings to any exactness is part of the myth. People simply want something to believe in.

You are correct. Most people that I know, who believe in astrology are people who feel that they are unfulfilled if they don't have a greater being or process to focus their attention on.

M*W: That's what I call "religious addiction."

It's because of the human need for myth, and a need for the existence of "something", that they know about (i.e. secret, or arcane knowledge).
And our grouping behaviour--it's important to believe something if you want in to some group.

Scientists believe in myths too. We all do.
Just that more than a few are able to see what a myth is. This doesn't get rid of it (we're still very animist, and anthropomorphic to a fault), but it kind of slays the dragon. Astrology is an obviously irrational belief (at least these days).

As with anything dealing with the occult or paranormal , if you want to believe in that crap that's your right to do so but if you see it as nothing more than crap then that means you are at least thinking. ;)
