    Prince wins diary privacy battle

The Prince of Wales has won a legal battle stopping the publication of his Hong Kong diary, but must go to trial to stop seven others being published.

The Mail on Sunday is to appeal the decision regarding the Hong Kong diary.

It was a matter of principle over a stolen document being made public

The prince took action after the newspaper published 1997 diary extracts about the Hong Kong handover - entitled The Handover of Hong Kong or The Great Chinese Takeaway - in which he referred to the Chinese hierarchy as "appalling old waxworks".

    *******

"The Great Chinese Takeaway - in which he referred to the Chinese hierarchy as "appalling old waxworks".

Is he not saying the truth they are appalling old waxworks, well the guy certainly has a good sense of humour, "The Great Chinese Takeaway" even funnier.

The chinese government is a disgrace & a joke, what he said is what most think of this evil dictatorship government.

Apart from anything else they were his private diaries, i am sick to death of powder puff butlers & upper class private secretaries selling everthing from the royal silverware to private diaries, why dont they just be make up artists in hollywood, and leave our royalty alone.

Jail them send them to the tower of london & hang them by there goolies.

I admitted that the British brought a good legal system and government structure to Hong Kong.

But remember, the "Imperial British Takeaway" about a hundred years before was uglier.

Yes it was wrong for the brits to go there, but if you ask the hong kong people who they prefer as there leaders they would say the brits, over half a million wanted asylum in the uk after the takeover, we took 46,000 of them.

We turned hong kong from fishing village, to one of the most important ports & business city in the world, they have a better & more up to date underground system than the UK's, as well as many awesome bridges, ive been there they have a city far advanced to many run down uk british cities.

Hong kong is a lesson for china, as what can be achieved under democracy as is taiwan, communist china is a joke of poverty, like the russians before them, and laos & north korea, communism just does not work, it only works for the rich corrupt leaders.

Very true. Hong kong is a model for the Shen Zhen and other special economic regions. Right now, China is the most capitalistic country in the world, Bourgeois enslaving Proletarians as in "The Communist Manifesto". You can image what is happening in this world's largest labor-intensive factory, with workers getting 100USD per month.

Communist china is not a joke but a tragedy. An unrealistic poltical system has brought misery to 10B people

    .

It should be better worded as: the Chinese Communist Party is a joke and a tragedy.

Well, Capitalism also works (more) for the rich and the powerful.

Yes i agree maybe my choice of words was wrong, i dont find it funny what is going on in china, & you are right it is tragedy, or a chinese opera going very badly.

The current trend in America now is teaching there children mandarin, it used to be spanish, now according to bbc world china is the in thing, in America.

I love chinese people, i hate the chinese governmnent, as i hate all communist governments, in my opinion they are nothing but released convicts who overthrow a government, and then say its for the people.

The chinese leaders are older than the dinosaurs, they all need putting down.

Maybe your friends are well off, but there are millions trying to get out of china, like the 37 who died in the back of a lorry in dover they suffocated, what a disgrace that was, or the 19 who drowned on morecomb beach in the Uk, working illegally picking winkles, another tragedy.

Or the chinese women who was jailed for 35 years yesterday for smuggling thousands of chinese into America.

The biggest tragedy is China has refused to take any illgal immigrants back, so they are rotting in American detention centres like bad mango's, people unwanted.

What is the reward we give a country that abandons its citizens worldwide, we give them the olympics.
