Today we have four dead and eight wounded Canadian soldiers because of a horrible mistake made by an American Pilot when he dropped a 500 lb laser guided bomb in the midst of a live fire training exercise in a known training area outside of Kandahar. According to the Department of National Defense the exercise was logged and noted with the American Forces and there was no reason for the pilot not to have been informed of what was going on below him. Accidents happen. President Bush didn't even deign it necessary to express condolences in his many appearances in front of the cameras yesterday. Worse than that, he waited until the end of the day when… Something wrong with saying it again, Mr. President? Canada sent her forces out to aid in the War on Terrorism as an ally and friend of the United States. Certainly those troops understood the risks involved but this is unacceptable. You have to have seen the news clip to truly appreciate it. His dismissive answer to the question was disgusting. Once again I’m embarrassed as an American. Peace.
Goofy, forgive me if I'm that drunk, but ... Goofy ..., Forgive me if I'm that drunk, but ... Well? It's a Bush. What did you expect? A note to my neighbors in Canada: Seriously. I share a border with you guys. The north of my state is the south of your country. I'm sorry. I'm fucking sorry, guys. None of it is supposed to go this way except that I don't understand why it does. He's a Bush. I'm truly, truly sorry, but get used to it. You've probably got ... six more years of this shit to put up with. with my heaviest heart, Tiassa Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I'm sure that the Canadians feel for your plight - being ruled by a Bush - and understand his statements do not reflect public opinion there (as his election as President didn't). It's somehow particularly sad when soldiers are killed by their own side, but this is one of the risks of a deployment. I would say that the US does seem to have a history of blowing up its allies though - I'm sure this is not intentional, but I wonder if it reflects greater numbers of US forces, or perhaps a slightly more gung-ho attitude to dropping ordnance? How many unlucky Afghans have been victims of similar incidents? Quite a few I would wager.
Yea i herd that more US solders were killed in the gulf war by friendly fire than by the iraq's is that true? My sympathys for the candians and bush, what a dick
