I got this idea from one of the other posts about something with universal heat. It doesn't have to do with that idea, but it made me think. Although it would take some energy and time to actually drill, could we drill to (not the center) far under the earth to where it would be pretty hot, send water down there, make steam, and use it as an energy source. I don't see how it would cause any pollution. I gotta go now! comment!

It's called geothermal energy and you don't need to drill to the center of the earth to produce it. Iceland uses hot springs to produce much of its electricity.
