Is there no limit to how far Murdoch and Fox will go for ratings??? At first I thought this story was funny, but now I think it's just a sad example of how bad TV has gotten.

    Even more sad ....

I'm inclined to let them do it that way if they really want. End result, if the American people bite for it, we'll get a striking testament as to how lowly we Americans regard politics. Remember, we're the United States of America, and no matter how bad a selection we can make, we can always bomb the shit out of whoever doesn't like it. I already indict the American people of that kind of mentality, so I'm thinking Dan Quayle or Bill Clinton should be the celebrity judge.

I caught Robocop on TV last night and remembered how funny the fake ads and the game shows on the future-world television stations were. It's not funny any more. It's a powerful testament to the stupidity of the American consumer. We thought those shows were extreme. We thought Dick Dawson as the host of "Dying for Dollars" in Running Man was ridiculously over the top.

    Not anymore.

What it comes down to is that television producers are eternally looking to get rid of writers. Unfortunately, writers make moneygrubbing a little more difficult. In the meantime, the producers have a point. Who the hell cares about art or production value? Sleaze is the affinity of the American palate right now, and sleaze we get in abundance. It's rather like manna from heaven for the common dolt. Realize, thinking is too hard for most Americans.

    thanx,
