Wow, people really enjoy taking punches at the people who work to secure our safety. I cannot imagine why anyone would want the job of enforcing our laws.

I cannot imagine why anyone would want the job of enforcing our laws. Adam 10-13-02, 05:28 AM What I think of that: http://bad-sports.com/~archive/revolution/military.html http://bad-sports.com/~archive/revolution/police.html Teri 10-13-02, 07:58 AM It occurs to me that giving out a ticket to a speeding motorist is probably the better part of a normal day for a police officer. Even though he's probably being shouted at, sworn at, spat at, or just generally abused by an irate speeder, to the officer, it's better than having to deal with a violent domestic dispute, bank robbery, riot, deceased person, murder scene, train derailment, dealing with a violent person, or anything else that the normal Joe wouldn't want to be doing ever. I am biased because I work with police, but give it some thought - most people police deal with on a daily basis are not happy to see them. Their whole day is packed with situations that would drive most people to the nut house. Do you ever see a bad guy put his hand out calmly to be cuffed? Of course not. The badies are usually trying to run or injure their detainers. It always surprises me that people believe that Police enjoy using force to restrain an offender. People who don't like police never hesitate to call them when they're being attacked. Next time you're pulled up by a cop, try being nice - most likely you'll realise that the guy is just someone doing a job that he knows no one else wants to do. Cheers. Teri :) |
