Pertinence is what we should live for. Pertinence not to our dreams, but to the material reality that includes character (e.g.words) and content (e.g. matter). Accept something for what it is, not what it should be, or could be, because your mind will be drifting from the present moment and you will lose pertinence. I do not mean to nurture it, so do not get the image of nurturing men. Freedom is lost while conjuring the concept of freedom at any specific moment. The only exception is a lack of energy.

Bingo.

We must let go of the past and live our lives, but always learn and remain understanding of our mistakes.

What an odd thing to say. If we learn from our mistakes, and try to understand those mistakes, then we're making use of the past, not letting it go!
