[2.11] And when it is said to them, Do not make mischief in the land, they say: We are but peace-makers.
[2.12] Now surely they themselves are the mischief makers, but they do not perceive.

Those verses are from the Koran(interpetation of meaning) and the main ones used when describing America as the "Great Satan".....and yet it seems that Bush and Co. are at it again.(so much for knowing your enemy)Bush and Co. are now blaming Syria for the recent assassination of a former Lebanese prime minister despite no evidence once so ever proving it and demanded that Syria withdraw its troops from Lebanon. Now seeing as to how if Syria was behind this then they would be looking at World-Wide isolation....... it would be suicide for them to commit such an act but this is minor when compared to the Iran situation. Bush and Co. have all but given the "green ligh" to Israel to attack Iran when he said:

Clearly, if I was the leader of Israel and I'd listened to some of the statements by the Iranian ayatollahs that regarded the security of my country, I'd be concerned about Iran having a nuclear weapon as well. And in that Israel is our ally, and in that we've made a very strong commitment to support Israel, we will support Israel if her security is threatened."

Once again The International Atomic Energy Agency has said that Iran is not in any weapons violations. They conducts regular inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities and even France and Germany and Russia agree but Bush and Co still lie by misrepresenting the "facts" in order to achieve Political objectives. Peacemakers?.....whatever  .......mischeif makers definately ......one doesnt have to be Muslim to see the problem here.....agree? :m:

Bush and Co. are finding exuses to invade Syria, just like he did with Iraq and WMD's. He found none but didn't care.

"Bush and Co. are now blaming Syria for the recent assassination of a former Lebanese prime minister despite no evidence once so ever proving it and demanded that Syria withdraw its troops from Lebanon. "

Well, it is pretty obvious who in the culprit in this matter, but I agree Bush should not be shooting his mouth with no evidence, especially with his limited credibility after the Iraq debacle. The United States has pressured Syria to withdraw from Lebanon for years with good reason. Lebanon itself demands it, and it is time for Syria to leave.

As does every nation on the earth

"it would be suicide for them to commit such an act but this is minor when compared to the Iran situation. "

Well as you say, Bush has no proof and this is the whole point. Iran has been launching attacks like this against Israel by supplying and supporting both Hamas and Hezbollah for years and has gotten away with it. There is no difference between a nations army attacking a country, or doing it in stealth, and frankly, Israel has all the right in the world to go to war with Iran who has been attacking them for years. Syria, just like Iran, knows that politically it is alot easier to do their dirty work by terrorist method then by direct assualt. An assasination certainly would not be suicide for them.

Bush used the initial fear after 9-11 in order to gain political support for an invasion of Iraq. Such political support for an attack does not exist today. While technically he can launch an attack on his own, he still needs the political support of both his party and Congress in order to sustain it. No matter how much Bush runs around the country raving that democrats are weak on defense now, he will not be able to obtain the necessary support to attack either Iran or Syria.

Don't kid yourself. Bush *could* get support for a limited strike against either country, as long as it didn't involve putting more troops on the ground or trying to build an international coalition.

Cheap. Fast. Looks brave, but really isn't. Classic Dubya.

That will be the tactic, if this happens at all.

No certainty that Syria is behind the killings, but since they were occupying Lebanon, not just with arm forces but also with a relatively solid intelligence apparatus. They had a degree of responsibility on allowing extremist to go about their thing freely.

When a country (Syria) tolerates radical groups, and those terrorist groups don’t target military targets, but instead unarmed civilians. They must also bear a degree of responsibility.

If only terrorist and extremist knew that their only enemies are their own selves.
