The Taliban have routed the Pakistani government and declared themselves the new rulers in SWAT. The first thing they have brought in is Islamic Law, you know, to usher in Islamic Paradise on Planet Earth .. Oh joy...

Don't worry. Sam will be in here ASAFP to sling blame in the direction of the U.S.

I'm kinda glad the U.S. conducted raids and ops inside Pakistan now. This just shows that Pakistan was helping the Taliban all along.
That's a stupid price to pay for a cease fire.
I think they should just let the U.S. come in and kick their ass like they did in '01 in Afghanistan.
Oh wait, they'd rather see their own women and children beheaded than to allow an outside force come in and properly rout those jackasses out of existence.

A quick question. Why is the Taliban any business of the US?

    BINGO!

Ignorant women oppressors! It's 2009...is this real??? Is America going to sit back and wait until they plan another terrorist attack? Are they really so eager to oppress every women on the planet and so frustrated that there are so, so, so many other countries and organizations that won't ever let that happen? What is their trip...don't they realize that oppressing women makes them ass-backwards and turns their how idolized "religion" into a crock-o-shit?

What next??? Is the Pakistani Government going to give them Nukes if they'll just behave? Why not just give them total control of the planet?

They shouldn't get anything but hard, hard, hardcore sanctions...sanction them off the face of the earth...

Who, Pakistan? As problematic as our relationship is with them, I think to cut ties altogether with sanctions would be disasterous.

I have asked this before. Where is this evidence that they helped Bin Laden?

They refused to extradite him from Afghanistan.

Of course the West and its focus on consumerism, (that`s on the way out thanks to greed) materialism, reality TV, play stations, designer labels, boob jobs, illiteracy, food, porn, booze, drugs, etc. is WAY better than a more spiritual, social and family orientated approach to life?

Unless you have lived in Islamic society (and there are many and varied), what gives you the right to judge the way woman are treated? The old 'woman are oppressed" chestnut is as worn and rancid as the fetor emanating from the ragged jockstrap encapsulating the notion of "Western Democracy".

This isn't going to make our job over here much harder than it already is, as the NWFP and FATA areas have been host to a growing Taliban presence since mid-2005. The really sad irony here is that there is every chance of it coming around and biting Pakistan in the ass as the Taliban grows stronger. Meanwhile, men are beheaded for shaving their beards and women are relegated to breeding. How depressing.

Incorrect, they did not "refuse". They had terms, and were happy to extradite him to a neutral country where he could get a FAIR trail, if the US could provide evidence linking him to 9/11. The US and Britain demanded his extradition without supplying evidence. That was the pretext for the invasion of Afghanistan.

To this day we are waiting for "evidence".

The Taliban are well known for their lack of tolerance for co-existing with those who do not share their beliefs and this adds up to total crud from my perception. If their rep for oppressing women and whacking off non-talis didn't proceed them, I would lend my ears and mind much quicker and be far more open to any suggestions their teaching and way of life had to offer, poverty or not. It's that intolerance I reject most of all...if America were run by Taliban...??? That will NEVER happen...so why ask?

It's the business of the USA because we gave and continue to give Pakistan a hell of a lot of our tax money. It's the business of the Citizens of the USA to see to it that our money is spent in accordance with what were were sold.

Secondly, if people in Pakistan want to act like cavemen and treat one another like meat heads - they can go right ahead and do so. It's their country and their muttenheaded caveman-like culture.

I think most Americans don't like the Taliban mentality and so maybe we should vote as to whether or not we want to continue trading with Pakistan at all. They want to behead men for not shaving and murder rape victims that's their business - but it's also our choice as to whom we trade with, and with whom our trading partners trade with. Lets instead strengthen our ties with India - they're the rising star of the two.

They were bullshitting us, biding time so he could escape. There might very well be no direct evidence linking him to the crime of 9/11, but as head of the organization responsible, he no doubt expedited and endorsed it. There is evidence of his connection to previous bombings. In any case, he needs to be killed, not tried in a neutral country.

Charge him first. If there isn't even enough evidence to charge him, there is no case.

He denied he was behind the attack.
