I believe that if people embrace both pacifism and humanism this world will be a better place and we can put an end to wars, hatred, prejudice and inequality . What is your take on this folks ?.

    Won't work.

Wars, hatred, prejudice and tendency towards inequality are natural tendencies of humanity.
Suppressing them will only last so long..

Supressing them is not a good idea. I've already expressed my distaste with pacifism; as for humanism, of course it's great to look out for your fellow man, but such a strong emphasis on "humanism" renders us incapable of doing what must be done.

Of course. But that is a BIG if. The one powerful country or person that chose to opt out would be able to gain power.

Well, I don't think the world will be a "better" place at all; it'd stagnate and decay. Competition drives progress, and an over emphasized "humanism" renders society incapable of doing what must be done.

Competition doesn't have to be violent.

Right. However sometimes violence is justified.

I think that we will evolve socially to the point where we won't have to fight anymore. There will only be one race and the political divisions will dissolve, and then we will be called just humans. Meanwhile, with all that time we used to spend throwing rocks at eachother, we will evolve technologically and travel the universe.

That is if we don't cause ourselves to become extinct first.

We fight because of greed, selfishness, no conscience, no responsiblility.....etc . If all these causes are limited then no more fights .

It is in our primal instincts that we get violent during competition. Its like dogs- they will bite and tackle each other ever since they are puppies.

Exactly. If everyone was a pacifist someone would just take advantage of it.

It is possible that modern politics is trying to do just this. We are placing a lot more emphasis on certain social traits (positivism, cooperation, communication, conformity) as a method to select for the future generations. People who pick up these traits more easily will become more successful, and perhaps this will lead to more offspring..

Nevertheless humans should have a conscience and do not take the rights of others .
Humanism treat all people the same regardless to anything that separates us all .
Pacifism would apply to resolve issues without the course of violence .
Putting humanism and pacifism together would solve our human problems .

Except for the slight problem that it would be humans doing it.
It doesn't matter how good an ideology or a religion or a philosophy is unless people actually do what they're supposed to according to their professed beliefs.
Sorta "Blam blam, oh yeah, I'm a humanist-pacifist but you're an exception. Blam, you too, this is a special circumstance..."

Sometimes advancing human society requires a very firm response to those who would deny the rights of others.

This is correct as things are now .
However my debate is IF ( big if of course ) everyone gets educated about pacifism and humanism at home, in schools.....etc; we can achieve a better result for peace and harmony . Nowadays children are taught different religions that lead to seperation, hatred, and irresponsibility......and that is just one example .
