"Some two-thirds of US foreign assistance bypasses the Afghan government"

As most if not all muslim countries are corrupt what do you expect?

examples the saudi prince taking millions in bribes for deals, a supposed beacon of honesty saudia arabia.

pakistan, there prez there has accused 2 previous prez's of coruption.

indonesia there previous prez stole billions.

malaysia & indonesia, even tsumami relief money disapeared there.

The reason there is no infrastructure in africa & the middle east is because of corruption & very poor governance, which is why when oil runs out the middle east will become another africa.

Corruption is higher in developing countries than in developed countries - obviously, but that is not the issue here.

The American Gov. was in a position to help the people of Afghanistan. Their actions since the war have shown they really do not give a damn.

    Never trust these heartless bastards.

From what i read in afghanistan, the canadians wanted to pay for some sports facility, but getting bores with handing over the cash & nothing getting built, they decided to build & import all the materials from canada themselves.

You cant quite grasp the problem, by the time the warloads have taken there commisions from aid, there is usually enough left to buy a pot of rice.

In indonesia they used a a mix of 12 parts sand one part cement to rebuilt houses after the tsunami from aid money, the correct mix is 4 or 5 parts sand & one part cement, they are basically building sand castles, all to steal money, there more than willing to see millions die all so they can make a quick buck.

You cant help people who dont give a damn about there own people, there is the trouble in africa & the middle east.

arabs & africans need to see past there own greed, if they are ever going to suceed in this world.

Guns and bullets cost more than food and such. Why is that difficult for these people to comprehend?

    Cue the organist:

    "It's our money and we'll spend as we want to, spend as we want to, spend as we want to;

You could spend too if it happened to be yours."

Oxfam can stick its opinions up its...

It can, but my point is how hollow an argument this is.

It's the same crap I encountered in college when people talked about how many hamburgers one tank could buy (or some other such silly argument). They apparently failed to realize that one can spend less money on charity than the military and still be doing a heck of a lot because a new jet is more expensive than thousands of tons of grain that feeds thousands of people.

    BS.

Folks who screw with us must already know that we have more disposable income -- after expenses -- than anyone else in the history of the world.

A portion of those expenses is altruistic largess apportioned around the planet because we feel generous.

Another portion of those expenses is military prowess apportioned around the planet because we feel in an educating mood.
