Im running my machine with a 21" flatscreen. I was just wondering, is this too much in your opinion?

Well, I'm only using my comp. for internet, word processing, and maybe the occasional game. Our Linux server is hooked up to a 15", and that seems adequate to me.

21" flatscreen... (dreaming...) that really great for DivX, video, games or programming but I don't know if it will be usefull on the web.
For your server, you should not display a graphical interface, so 15"-17" is fine.

    21 inch flatscreen

    You're a lucky man Carmagio...*gets misty eyed*...lucky man.

What Resolution is it set on?..what's the max res?

It could be strenious to your eyes. Make sure to sit atleast a arms length away from the monitor.

That size would be sweet for games...it would really do justice to the higher end video cards

I tell my students (of all ages) the older they are the more they need larger screens.

You youngsters may be able to get by with 15's but that just doesn't cut the mustard for us seniors. My personal preference is 20's or larger. The exception being my beloved, ThinkPad 770X with enhanced graphics but only a 13.7" screen (never understood why the non graphics enhanced had a 14" but assumed it had something to do with the x-matrix array).

CRT's need to be larger than LCD's about a 2" spread.
This is also true of screen distance, the LCD's being far less harmful and stressful than the CRT's.

One wise poster mentioned resolution setting, an excellent point.
In the earlier days of computer imaging and graphics Mitch (Kapur) explored the theory that resolution was only half the issue, and lower resolution with high colour could yield better results sometimes.

My personal preference, if available, is 1024x768 24 bit (Truecolor).

Hope this helps, HBH (Love the 57" Plasma, what viewing distance?-)
