Why is it that some people want you to listen to they're opinion on somthing but when you try and speak your opinion you are told to shut up and be quiet?

Tell me, why wont some people listen to what people have got to say, even if it is complete and unter bullshit, you should still give that person the consideration of listening to what they have to say, then you can decide what that person is trying to say for yourself, even when you know something is right and you have proof they still dont listen to you and think your uneduacted and a moron??

and why.....oh why.....is that persons opinion more important than yours? what makes them special?

Simple ...it's the universal language;

"I'm right, you're wrong!"

People wouldn't form an opinion about something if they thought that opinion was wrong, would they? Of course not.

(sorry, couldn't resist)
I know exactly what you mean. Usually with me, I'm polite and tactful but if someone makes a comment like that to me after I've listened to them, the verbal gloves come off and it's ON!
Sometimes it's a blessing, sometimes it's a curse but I have a tendency to speak my mind. It has gotten me in trouble, especially when I was still on active duty.

If I don't agree with something someone has to say, especially if I have proof that they're wrong, I'll call them out.

Actually they enjoy listening to themselves talk for they cannot respect others pointsof view especially when they never listen.

i have a tendancy to speak my mind aswell, but people should listen! teachers i find are the worse for this sort of thing, they have an opinion about "your" child and they will not listen to you about your child!

Why?

See? If they've already formed their opinion, why should they want to listen to your opinion? "Proof" or not?

You're trying to give some moral or ethical lesson here, but morals and ethics are the same way ....I'm right, you're wrong is a universal thought in humans. Expecting or wanting someone else to do things as you'd do them is just faulty thinking ...it ain't gonna' happen, even if it sounds like one of those nicey-nice things that peole should do. They won't, live with it.
