Next spring, or spring 2006 for those who don't keep track, the opera "Nyriamachabelli: the woman who lives alone" will premiere. It is a play written by high school kids, a part of the KY Opera's "Visions" program. In case you are wondering, it is a bout Dian Fossey. The writing of the script and composition of the music has just been finalized today.

I implore you all to go to Louisville, and see it in the spring. Keep it in mind, eh.

Couldn't they pick a little more complicated name.

The current name is too easy to say.

I thought of the title. Fourteen other people and I have just spent the past two weeks working on the Libretto, and the past...oh, three days, working on the title. This morning we unanimously voted on "Nyiramachabelli", with the subtitle telling what it means.
Even if you know nothing about Miss Fossey, it would be a good experience to see the opera next spring.
