    quick question guys,

I have just upgraded to vista, and thus had no more microsoft office (didn't come with it, only a trial) so I decided, hey, I will give open office a try. well, one of the things I liked about MS office was that I knew how to run everything by hitting the windows button then R (run dialog) and either tying winword, or excel. so, does anyone know what these commands would be for open office? or where I would go to find such a thing? would it be in the registry?

On Linux it's "ooffice", try it.
Just the word processor is longer (again on Linux, might not be true for win): ooffice -writer

Seems it's "soffice" on Windows (works for me at least).

    "soffice -writer" (word processor)
    "soffice -calc" (spreadsheet)
    "soffice -base" (database)
    "soffice -impress" (presentation/slide show)
"soffice -math" (for creating mathematical formulae)
    "soffice -draw" (drawing package)
