I guess that it's really hard to live with a conjoined twin! (Arghh, that freezes me...) :(
I hope that they will be free (and alive of course) and that they will have normal lives.

I hope they are buried in separate coffins, that way they can finally get what they wished for. :( :( :(

I hope they will serve as a example to the medical community that it is not infallibale, my they rest in peace. :(

When and where did anyone think the medical community was infallible???

These twins were warned that there chances of survival from separation were not good.

What a sad and hopeless yet touching statement...I share your sentiment.

These twins were warned that there chances of survival from separation were not good.
Which is why the german team turned them down in '96.

I for one would prefer to be dead than be joined to someone at the head, I can't think of anything worse.
Think about it, right now they are the least annoyed they have ever been:) we should be happy for them.

Dr Lou Natic,

that’s a pretty odd but truthful way of looking at it.

While is is sad that theey died, you must also remember, that they knew what they were in for. A german hospital, which they had asked to do the operation, before they went to Singapore, REFUSED to operate on them, because they deemed it too difficult and dangerous!

They knew the risks but took them anyway.
They made the sacrafice in a bid to lead their own lives as Individuals.

I'm sure many people would take the same risks and I'm sad they didn't pull through but i admire their bravery to go through it.

I know this has sparked a bit of argument about whether this type of surgery should be allowed (Life threatening surgery to correct or change something that poses no danger to life or health) but to be honest i think if someone wants to undergo this procedure fully aware of the risks for a chance at their own life and increased quality of life then it is their choice.
To deny this to someone because the surgery is "Un-Ethical" is surely in itself "Un-Ethical"?

I feel a bit sad and sorry about this news.
What do you guys feel?
It makes me think about life...
Life is short. Both of us will eventually die someday,
so we have to treasure our life. :m:

I wanna know if they didn't do this surgery,
is that possible for them to live longer?
would they die very soon?

Both of them would have lived the normal life-span of human beings.

I have to agree with Psycho-cannon. To deny someone from a self-claimed "un-ethical" operation indeed is un-ethical(note the absence of quotes). After all, They ARE adults. It IS their lives. IMHO it's nothing more "un-ethical" than a cancer surgery. Provided they kenw the risks involved.

I applaud The International Team of surgeons who performed the surgery. They've given the twins a chance to fulfill their lifelong dream. Some have claimed that it was their bid for glory. But I beg to differ.
