You guys should undertand that homosexuality is something that can't really be changed. Only suppressed. It is the American way to permit people to be themselves amidst the mediocrity and corruption of humanity (of both themselves and other peoples). We have people of many different groups wanting to carve out an identity for themselves. But identity is not something we should make a priority. The first thing, even before basic needs, is long term self-respect - not self -interest/ishness/love/etc, but a desire to live (and feel as though every second meant the universe to you) - because without this one is dead, and we're only living occasionally. I say "long-term" because picture a person going through childhood with insufficient self-respect and they gain a fleeting moment of brief life, but lose it again.

Our hearts interpret quite a different reality to our minds. Our heart is our bodies. It gives the mind directives for what to think and the mind creates an emotional vision which interferes with the one true reality. Emotion is the only reality of the heart, but it is not the one true reality. The problem with this is that when the heart feels some immense pain, and then a little happiness (the two emotions cancel each other out and the difference in intensity is left), the rest of life is "lived" in fear, paranoia and avoidance of the pain, but all that one finds is that the heart recreates the painful memories in hopes that the mind will protect it. The mind becomes its bitch. It warps the intellect into strictly defensive action 24/7. And every logical thought and act is devoted towards curbing the pain through the fear mechanism, and its daughter, paranoia - which is a neurosis, which does no good for the intellect.
