Weirder than X-Files? More "science" oriented?
What did John whisper just before he died???

Yeah I watched it. It was ok. Don't know if I will continue to watch it or not. I didn't catch what he said either.

Found it boring after 10 minutes. Watched the Hoff praising American talent...

Agreed. Except on the "America's Got Talent" part though. Two words: "The Hoff." 'Nuff said.

Yeah... um... so the FBI investigator lady can't tap Bureau's authority because of a lame excuse (conveniently contrived by an obstructing boss, who refused to accept a reasonable lead in order to avenge some perceived affront) in order to gain access to a key witness (who's a genius that's committed to a mental clinic, restricted to family visits only) who might help solve the case, thus requiring her to find said genius's son in order to gain access to his talents and history. The hospital, upon the request of the son, somehow allows the convicted homicidal maniac to leave "under the watchful eye of his son" to parade around god knows where. This, being the result of the fact that an FBI agent lies in bed, dieing from some unknown contagion which has him quarantined, which quarantine can be conveniently broken in order to check the patient out and ship him off to the dusty, contaminated basement of a university, to sit basically unattended while son and agent run around solving the case.

    Fucking idiotic.

Not perfect but I like it so far. People in real life frequently do & say idiotic things, including police, FBI, doctors, lawyers, teachers, scientists, etc etc. Many true stories would seem contrived if made into a movie.
Couldn't see the 2nd episode. Don't want much of a spoiler until I do but did it reveal what John said as he died & did it hint that maybe he didn't actually die?

The second episode was equally unbelievable. Sadly, though, I actually enjoyed watching it, despite the fact that I drove my boyfriend insane with my constant nit-picking.

I will endeavor to nit-pick in my mind the next time.

That said, I found the whole "old baby" thing to be utterly and irresponsibly unbelievable. The female womb would not stretch that much, that quickly. it's exceedingly strong. The baby would grow and crush itself inside of her. Moreover, for a baby to grow, it needs to eat, it would never receive the nutrition and oxygen it needed to grow at that rate inside the womb. The mother's body simply would starve it or asphyxiate it to death in about fifteen minutes. Moreover, upon being born, it could not grow without eating. Remember: the baby went through all stages of life. How did it grow? A human body grows by turning protein and minerals into flesh and bones, so without eating, how did it grow? While we know that it did live several hours, it's cellular mitosis would need huge quantities of food. She sheer volume of piss and shit it would be marinating in is unimaginable.

On a simple level, a human body is just a slow furnace. It literally captures the power of fire (oxidization), cools it off and slows it down then converts that energy into various other forms of energy (heat, electricity, motion, etc). This person's "accelerated" growth would speed up that process, thus exposing the organic flesh to enormous amounts of electricity and heat. It's physically impossible for it to happen. The body needs to fold proteins and convert minerals into essential building blocks, this process cannot, by laws of chemistry, happen on a scale that fast and large to sustain such growth. In the off sci-fi-esque chance that it could, the excess heat produced by such conversions would cook itself alive.

Lastly: when the pituitary gland snatching guy grew old so quickly, his hair wouldn't spontaneously turn grey. It's dead flesh. His body might age, you might be able to see some grey roots from fast hair growth, but the hair color would essentially stay the same.
