View Full Version : Observational Evidence of Ghosts

Ok. This is a long story, but I will try to make it short.

On Sunday, my new fridge broke so we had to call the manager again. He allowed my wife and I to put all our food in the fridge of an upstairs apartment that has been empty for a while, so that the food don't go bad. We would have to go upstairs whenever we need something.

We went on to put all our food upstairs for a while. That transfer occurred towards the end of the afternoon. At first, all was normal. I went by doing things normally. However, today, when I went upstairs to get some stuff for dinner, strange things started to happen. I went inside and turned on the lights. As soon as I came in, I heard some strange noises. They weren't loud. It sounded like a small thing falling on the ground and making an eco. It was definetely coming from inside. The apartment is completely empty, so I found that very odd. I went on getting the food. It happened again. The place was feeling very eerie since I came in. I finished and come back downstairs.

Later on, I had to bring some things back. All those things happened again. But this time it was stronger, and something else also happened. I heard a soft voice coming from the living room. It was very distant, so I couldn't really hear if there was something in specific being said, I just heard it as a noise.

Now, I normally don't just believe in ghosts. I do believe that they maybe exist, but never found substantiating proof about their existence. But since this experience, I find it very hard not to believe.

I wonder what you guys think. I was thinking of asking the manager to leave a camera recording stuff there. Unfortunately, I don't have a camera, so I'm not sure if it is going to happen... What do you think about my observations?

Perhaps the soft voices were the people in the apartment next door?
I'm persuming that from the sounds of it the apartment is uncarpetted, if it's bare floorboards the tiniest noise can echo, so it could have been a mouse even.

Noises don't equal ghosts.

Ghosts (as I understand the "supernatural" meaning) are only either illusions or delusions, depending on one's level of objectivity.

I hear people next door all the time. It's a different kind of sound when it happens inside. Check for yourself some day... ;)

Can't you tell when somebody is talking from your living room or from another apartment?

For exaple, when a noise comes from outside, you don't normally hear an eco.

Well, I haven't seen mouses around here... :p

Noises don't equal ghosts.
That's precisely what I'm trying to find out in this situation. Just because I heard those noises, doesn't mean ghosts exist. But unfortunately I haven't been able to find any other explanation for the phenomenon.

TruthSeeker,
*hearing grasshopers*I believe those are crickets that make those sounds. ;)

On a side note, I don't think that counts as strong ghost evidence. There is a whole range of things that can make those sounds. You didn't even see the ghost! :P

Hopefully you'll come back telling us you saw a ghost. So keep a camera on you! :m:

P.S. Sometimes I see things too.

Huuum.... Which things can make those sounds? What do you have in mind?

P.S. Sometimes I see things too.
I see dead people...

Geez! That's getting old...! :D

What do you think about my observations?

Have to be honest, I'm thinking an unfurnished, empty apartment in a tenanted building contains absolutely nothing to baffle out sound - that coupled with the fact that it isn't your personal space, that it's empty, that you're very consciously aware of all the usual signs of life going on outside the apartment, but none whatsoever inside except you and the fridge...

I'm thinking you're giving yourself a good case of the spooks, intellectually know this but nevertheless the rational part of your brain is serving only to focus the not so rational on the matter of something feeling a bit off with the empty apartment.

After all why, in tenanted building with people all around and space is at a premium, is this apartment empty, a piece of you is asking yourself. A part of you is looking for a reason.

Basically, you're just filling in the literal blanks...

I know very well why this apartment is empty. The building stinks! :D
(I didn't mean that literally :D)

On top of that, it is haunted! LOL! :D

Truly, I say unto you, I do keep hitting the books on my head... :D
Particularly my personal accounting statements... :D

Want a scientific explanation?

If you were sure that the apartment was empty, then the noises could have been caused by various things - thermal expansion/contraction, pressure gradients, land subsidence, etc. etc. acting on a wide variety of possible mechanisms. You can find the cause for this "ghost" and debunk it right here.
And the voices must've come from the outside.

I'm looking forward to it.
