Toward a 21st-Century Regulatory System Let me break it down nice and sweet for you: Obama wants to get re-elected. To get re-elected Obama needs large inflows of money to purchase $100s of millions of dollars worth of "commercials" to "market" his "message" to your average dimwit swing-voting American in between sessions of "Americian Idol". The Banksters/WallStreet thugs pretty much have all the money (thanks to Ben and the crooks at the Fed). So, to get at some of that money, Obama has promised even LESS regulation than before (less than even under Bush Jr.). Obama is basically promising the Banksters free-reign to suck the last few drops of blood from Lady Liberty.... leaving us with Her cold dead corpse - it's called selling out. Does this come as any surprise to anyone here? Nope. Thanks again Obama! You're an even bigger sellout than that jackass Bush Jr. - hell, you even manage to make Junior look good .... and THAT'S saying something!
Just a Beginning I don't think it's quite that bad. What I see is Obama opening himself to a long-running discussion as interest groups and political factions sound off about this and that regulation. This is quite clearly a political maneuver, though—it is intended to establish his stake in controlling the dialogue. This is more likely a tactic considering the Republicans and their Tea Party bandwagon than Wall Street itself. Hell, if he does it right, he might even be able to play Wall Street directly against the right wing. This is just a beginning. Well, okay ... if he's about to play for real, for once. Or maybe we're just going to stand there and say nothing while he nakedly sells us down the river right before our very eyes. Like I said, this is just a beginning.
