I was a big fan of her when I was about 14. I liked her moody weirdness. I find it a little boring these days.
Much given to that record when it came out; my sister saw the performance tour and told me she "couldn't imagine it without the visual". I doubted - likely to spoil things, I thought: make the threat more cheesy and specific, less ominous, maybe spoil some of the jokes by explaining them. Seen too many light shows. Expected pictures of planes. Not a problem. The only edge removed there was off the bright cheer of "Hi Mom!", as I recall, and layers were added with the hand puppet stuff etc. So thank you, Lord ! What a fine place, this forum. Too bad y'all haven't had a listen on the original analog wax, though. One tune at a time, though, still has something ? I never dove in - no built up immunity.
