Sesame Street breaks Iraqi POWs (BBC) (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3042907.stm) Uncooperative prisoners are being exposed for prolonged periods to tracks by rock group Metallica and music from children's TV programmes Sesame Street and Barney in the hope of making them talk.

The US's Psychological Operations Company (Psy Ops) said the aim was to break a prisoner's resistance through sleep deprivation and playing music that was culturally offensive to them. Nothing is sacred anymore. Do what you will to Barney, but leave Jim Henson out of it.

I am less and less impressed by my government's treatment of human beings every day.

Yet consider what we subject our children to:"In training, they forced me to listen to the Barney "I Love You" song for 45 minutes. I never want to go through that again," one US operative told the magazine. You know, why don't we just send in the Scientologists? When you need to brainwash or psycho out a person, why not call the experts?

Can you picture Tom Cruise? "Tell us what you know or I'll dance to Bob Seger tunes in my underwear!"

Maybe we can break out the Leroy Neiman paintings?

Heavy metal music and popular American children's songs are being used by US interrogators to break the will of their captives in Iraq

Oh man they are making them think USA truly is Satan , those are bound to be recruited if they ever get free again ...

Why do they have such a bad name ? I know nothing of these peoples other than their site and some of their dianetics philosophies , but I never found anything that crazy .......

I used to be pro bush just because everyone was against him and I like being contradictory on matters I couldn't care less about, but now, yes, bush has to go.
A president needs to come that will stop the navy blowing out whales eardrums.
I don't care what anyone says, that is the most serious issue in the world today, bar none.
When people complain about the bad treatment of human beings they sound like spoilt little kids to me. You are a human being, you have every advantage, stop imagining a perfect world and look at the real world, even people in 3rd world countries are living on easy street compared to say, your average wolf.
If anything, people need some of their comfort taken away from them to restore a balance.
