    Anyone read their books ?

While i find Chomsky's to be a bit dry, Fisk and Pilger seem alright, although they are the more opinionated of the three.

Any opinions as to why people think they are controversial and Anti American ?

Recommend reading Pilger and Fisk, Chomsky is a bit dry.

They are anti-American because they dislike the fact that their country, which should be the shining torch of liberty and freedom to the world, is in fact a hegemony. Its obviously evil of them to want their country to be better.

    Hi Sam,

i think MR Fisk is British.

Chomsky, is well heavy and i have to read each paragraph he writes a few times to undertsand what he is saying. Fisk is quality and pilger is good too. Mr Fisk writes for the independent, so i read quite a bit of his stuff in that paper.

Fisk is not anti-american, but anti some of the decisions the US government takes. he is also against all the arab dictators and he used to condem yasser Arafat a lot too. Mr fisk wriotes very well and his articles always flow well i find.

Yeah that too, their cry for help to make the fascist US policies visible to the oblivious American people. That makes them downright satanic.\

One has only to look at his prodigious hate speeches and writings

I don't think that it's so much Anti-Government or State as Neo-Government or State, where it's plain to see faults in the current political systems and voicing an opinion is an attempt to change those systems for the better, not to undermine such systems further.

This is reflected in their comments being more on analysis of wrong doing.

Fisk is indeed British as far as I know. Pilger is Australian. Chomsky describes himself as having been raised in a Jewish ghetto -- albeit it was in Pennsylvania.

Pilger is a very readable propagandist, but not entirely to be trusted for his facts or objectivity. Chomsky has a brilliant inventive academic mind, but he's no journalist. I go along with Zakariya, Fisk writes well; I rate him the class act of the three.

Spot on dude, I find pilger interesting simply because he seems to be the more agitiated out of the trio, That and the fact that he made 55 documentaries.

Fisk is somewhat in the middle, I need to read Edward Said to get into more detail of some of the issues he calls up.

However i think Chomsky is a bit heavy for a 15 year old..... glad to know that others find it hard to read too.
