:( Ouch DHL seems to be stopping its shipment service in USA.

On the same day shipping provider DHL announced it will slash 9,500 jobs and discontinue its U.S.-based air and ground services, driver Pat Beiger - who turns 60 in January - learned that one of those jobs is hers.

that leaves FEDEX for express shipment only...or Priority...

Dalsey, Hillblom and Lynn would be furious.

But, DeutschePost Worldnet can't compete with Fedex and UPS.

Actually, it's not. They have the same "overnight" and express service that Fedex and DHL have. The company I use uses all three (well, it will be two now), with little difference in delivery times and promptness.

Don't be clueless.

The "rules" of capitalism and supply n' demand are sometimes harsh, but necessary.

The recess in USA is just unraveling...

Did you think the same things when the Steam Engine industry quit producing steam engines?

So? Check out the histories of the USA ...check out all the industries that died a natural death in the USA. Did their demise make the USA collapse in any way? The fur industry? And there are many industries that died, and the USA is still standing strong.

Let's just ignore Draqon's clueless posts and discuss the issue!

As I mentioned I always thought for such a unique business as package delivery having 4 companies was just an overcrowded party. To take on the USPS is a pretty hard job, and if you have 2 more competitors that is just a question of time when one would fold. With gasprices skyrocketing and generally business dropping, there was no way all 3 would survive...

Right, this coming from the guy who gushes, blindly, over anything Russian.

Interesting twist.

Well I've started seeing UPS vehicles in the UK. Haven't seen Parcelforce in a while though.

USPS contracts UPS for air transportation. USPS also uses Siemens for automated mail redirection.
