What's this rule for? Its quite hard to make a useful contribution to discussions without being able to post links as references.

Also, where can I read the forum rules? I can't find any anywhere.

We had a spammer problem at one point. Removing links from newbie's posts solved the problem nicely.
It's not that difficult to reach 20 posts.

(As to rules. There are actually some rules, but they're sort of arbitrary. Basically, don't be too much of a dick and you should be cool.)

moderate only new members for first week
