What do you think of Bush's new overtime rules?

I cannot see anyway that this could possibly be a good thing. Perhaps someone can explain to me how the hell they think this is going to help anything.

What is this. "The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer" is what it seems to me. He passes new laws that allow the rich to keep more of their money, and give those who would otherwise get it, less.

Bush looks out for the common man so much, he sacrifices all his rich buddies helping us out.

It's all part of the republican agenda to slowly work our way back to utilizing slave labor.

And down the tubes went our economy.
most white-collar workers with any education beyond high school would be placed in a category of “learned professional” and would likely be exempt — unable to earn overtime.
Do I sense hints of communism? communism didnt push the bottom up, it pushed the top down, destroying society. The action described in quote above may have a horrible effect on economy.

I guess soon they'll introduce legislation to make child labor legal again, to help make us competitive in the global economy.

Maybe they can use them in the coal mines that they have just trashed the Air quality controls for allowing millions more workers to die a year from Black Lung disease from breathing in fumes and Rock dust as they no longer have to keep the air clean down there.
With all those workers falling over and dying all over the place freeing up those 1000's of kids with nothing better to do to go work down the mines and drag out the dead bodies of their dads and brothers will keep the economy going nicely.

I recently talked to someone about this and they said that it would in effect put alot of hourly wage workers on salery. I don't see how this is posible, but could that be the idea that bush is trying to propose; A steady level of income for more of the working class? I could see that as possibly being a good thing, but I don't think that is actually what is happening here.

Can anybody clear this whole thing up a bit?
