View Full Version : News, Rumors, & More!
CounslerCoffee 04-10-03, 03:59 PM Thor has given me the wonderful idea of a SciFi news section. In this thread your allowed to post rumors, news, and spoilers for up coming scifi episodes.
But first, before we get started, a rule. All possible spoilers are to be marked with *SPOILERS*. If this is not done, then it will result in your post being edited. If you do it multiple times (Meaning that you've ruined multiple plot twists for me) I will call for your banning because I'll be one mad Mod.
*EDIT* A small request. If your going to post news, please type the name of the show/movie in the the subject heading. That way people know what there about to read.
Now on with the first bit of news:
TheOneRing.Net reported that the trailer for the third Lord of the Rings film, The Return of the King, will screen with The Matrix Reloaded, which opens May 15.
CounslerCoffee 04-10-03, 04:07 PM AintItCoolNews.com has reported that Joss Whendon's Firefly may be released on DVD.

Here are some rumours of what may happen in the upcoming Series 7. Sorry I would link to the site but it doesn't allow me to link directly to this little gem.
*SPOILER ALERT*
As Season 6 draws to an end, details on Season 7 have already hit the net.
The 2-part Season 7 premiere will bring Daniel Jackson back to SG-1, and put yet another ally in grave danger. Episode titles are currently "Fallen" and "Homecoming"
A anonymous tipster at gateworld.net (http://www.gateworld.net) had the following to say;
"In the teaser several nomadic tribesmen (think Bedouins) find Daniel, naked and unconscious, in a forest clearing. When he comes to, he has no memory of who he is or how he got there. Daniel has a strong feeling that he did something wrong, but no clue what it might have been."
"SG-1, SG-3 and SG-5 gate to this planet (P4T-3G6) believing it to have been a world of the Ancients. They find that Daniel has been living with the people there for two months. Daniel doesn't recognize his friends."
"Meanwhile, Jonas' homeworld, Kelowna, comes under attack by Anubis, who wants their naquadria for an advanced weapon."
"Carter comes up with a crazy plan to knock out Anubis' new weapon that involves Jonas and Daniel sneaking aboard Anubis' ship to work from inside so the X-302 can attack from outside. But Jonas is captured by Anubis, leaving a shaky Daniel alone to get the job done."
The episodes also see the return of some familiar faces from Season 6.
Episodes have been filmed this month and are expected in the US around June and the UK in September.

"The seventh -- and possibly final -- season of Stargate SG-1 has it's start date: Friday, June 13, 2003. The Sci-Fi Channel will air 22 all-new episodes of the hit series, featuring the entire original cast. It's not yet known whether the show will keep its 9 p.m. time slot, or what shows the network will pair with it...
...Season Seven is expected to debut on Sky One in the U.K. in September, and elsewhere around the world after that. Production is currently underway in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Roll on September :)
"Well there is finally proof of what we had all known for quite some time now. The hit TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer will not be returning to TV next Fall. Sarah Michelle Gellar had announced her decision not to renew her contract in an interview in the March 7th issue of Entertainment Weekly."

Nice to know that she's alright.
CounslerCoffee 04-15-03, 02:10 PM Finale To Alter Enterprise
Rick Berman, producer of UPN's Enterprise, offered SCI FI Wire several spoilers for the upcoming second-season finale, called "The Expanse," which he said will set the show on a new course. "For the first time on a Star Trek series, we're going to be dealing with a mission to save Earth," Berman said in an interview. "We'll be dealing with a different group of aliens, [and] we're going to be dealing with some new, non-Starfleet people coming on the ship to add a little muscle for the potentially violent situations our crew will be coming up against."
Berman added, "One of our characters is going to lose someone back on Earth during this devastating blow. There's going to be a major change to T'Pol [Jolene Blalock], based on whether or not she'll join the crew in going into" a Bermuda Triangle-like region of space.

CounslerCoffee 04-18-03, 09:48 PM Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings films, told the BBC Online that he will add 43 minutes of deleted scenes to the upcoming DVD release of The Two Towers. The extended-version DVD of The Fellowship of the Ring had an extra 32 minutes.
The new Stargate SG-1 promotion poster has been released around the net and it appears that Daniel Jackson is now sporting a new look. He looks a little like a Fremen from Dune. Could be an indicator for what's to come in Season 7

Also, there are rumours that Season 7 may not be the last.
Actor Don S. Davis who plays General Hammond has been quoted to say...
"There are constant rumors and wonderings by those of us involved...We hear rumors that it might do an eighth season, but there is certainly nothing official. The nature of our show is that it is a star-driven show. We have a wonderful supporting cast, but it really is Jack O'Neill and his gang saving the world from the bad guys."

Acid Cowboy 05-04-03, 11:09 PM Star Trek: Borg Encounter (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0356069)
Hopefully this movie will be more along the lines of Star Trek: First Contact, which was the best of the Star Trek movies, in my opinion.
CounslerCoffee 06-12-03, 04:04 PM This thread isn't working. So it is now unstuck. KA-BAM! *Thread is magically unstuck* Well, to bad were all lazy or this would of been really cool.
