A new 11-year solar cycle has started.
A new sunspot in the northern hemisphere of the Sun was observed today.
The frequency of sunspot activity is likely to increase until it reaches a peak in late 2011 or mid-2012.
The sunspot cycle can potentially affecting airline flights, communications satellites and electrical transmissions.

11 and 22 year cycles have been going on for who knows how long. Nothing new so nothing to worry about.

Hum,
perhaps mentioning it “affecting airline flights” etc was a bad move...
i should have maybe said that with an increase in sunspot numbers that there is an associated increase in magnetic disturbances or auroras.

Auroras = nice photos ;)
