I like it too. Although, I did lose my Avatar when I tried to update it sometime ago.

How in the blue hell did I get an avatar? I mean, huh?!? Anyway, the new look confused me for a while, I thought there was something wrong with my browser or I was low on RAM. BUt I like the newer look (the last new look confused me too). As always, keep up the good work and have a bagel

Highly impressive even though I had to ditch my awesome avatar.

Besides, just noticed that Dave has shifted to Melbourne. Have a nice time with weather and good cricket.

I miss the times when you could choose your own color scheme.

don't disagree. just nod your head with a blank look on your face (trust me...better in the long run)

There was such a time??Yes ... sort of.

I forget if it was Exosci or the early generation of Sciforums, but we used to have that switch with three or four preset color schemes among our options.

I don't remember it being tremendously ... diverse. And at least one of them was really hard on the eyes.

I had long forgotten about that until Maia mentioned it.

For the record, I obviously don't miss it a whole lot.

I'm just happy to be able to have an avatar! as a general rule I hate avatars, hate them with a passion and a fury that few can comprehend. That's part of why I've been drawn to the sciforums, there used to be a general lack of them, which I found quite pleasing.

This new layout, combined with the restrictions of 40x40 avatars, however has opened my eyes to the potential beauty for Avatars. I can honestly say that this is the first forum layout that I have ever seen in which Avatars actually seem to fit in and really ad something to the look of the threads, good job on that Porfiry!

The new format isn't bad, it takes a little while to get used to, as all new things do :)

But I think you should have all the user names indented into the page at the same place. As of now, people's name , who have avatars, are indented to the right to make room for the avatar. Names without avatar's are stuck all the way on the left side of the page. If the names were all lined up, it'd be easier to see where posts end and start, as with the new look the threads' posts are blended together.

Thanks for keeping SciForums alive, Porfiry :D
