Has anyone heard about the new 3D hologram technology which hovers objects in front of a screen instead of looking at a screen,
apparantly you will be able to interact with the floating objects

How do they do this by using a single 2D view? I'm assuming they use lasers, they are keeping things very secret.

Too good to be true me thinks

***Wants to play BF1942 on one of those screens***

Imagine the graphics cards you'll need!

I think this is the Next Big Thing in monitor technology, like b&w to colour, or CRT to TFT. Actually CRT to TFT isn't very big. But 2D to 3D is.

Way cool! It will be awhile before it hits the mainstream though.

Wanna have! Anyway, time to look closer into that technology...

EDIT:

The only thing I found on the function is this:

Well in fact we do not project in the air but your brain and your eyes see it in the air, its like when you go to 3d movies and you see flying objects but with the 3DSolar technology you dont need glasses as we only use a simple image (one view).

Source: 3DSolar forums HERE (http://forum.onecenter.com/cgi-bin/forum/forum.cgi?c=msg&fid=solar&mid=8)

Also, there are no videos or pictures because the image is essentially a trick of the human brain, so it can not be recorded by a simple camera.

Still another addition, rumor has it that this system should work with a normal PC.

thanks for the info, so it is still going to make you go cross eyed and give you headaches then by the sounds of it :D

I found this too

I definately think I would be tempted to get one if they were £800

Supposedly it does not have those unwanted side-effects, but there really is not much info to be found, not even an article on the presentation for Nvidia... seems like we have to wait until they have more than a prototype. But that thing would be very interesting.
