... or something for yourself.

Out of ideas on what to get people? I've got a few. So I figured that I would share.

Games

How about a remote control that plugs directly into your TV so you can play classic games like pac-man? No console is needed. Just plug and play:

$24.99 - Namco 5 in 1 Classic TV (http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.jsp?c=1&b=g&qp=0&bookmark=bookmark_0&oid=76656&catoid=-10751)

Or how about the classic Atari games? No console needed.

$39.98 - Atari and Namco Classic Games (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=B321721B)

For the GameBoy owner I recommend Fire Emblem (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=160377). For the X-Box, how about pre-ordering Halo 2. (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=210263) And buy a GameCube right now, and you can get four Zelda games for free (Advertised on TV, not available online as far as I know, but you can find them at WalMart, EB, and GameStop). For the PS2 owner, but the Lord of The Rings games (No link provided, search for it yourself - prices vary).

DVDs

How about the extended version of The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers? ($69.98 - Gift Collectors Set, Comes with Statue of Gollum) (http://shop.newline.com/catalog/product.xml?product_sku=DVDLOTR06&referral_id=CJP)

You can always buy those classic DVDs that any nerd is sure to enjoy:

Office Space (Buy a red stapler with it while your at it)
X2 - I got my two disc set for $15 at Wal-Mart.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Books

Odds & Ends

Try http://www.thinkgeek.com - They have wonderful gift ideas like caffinated soap. Or a binary clock.

If all else fails and you run out of ideas, then buy gift certificates... But those aren't fun, are they?

As a bit of a computer nerd, I can't say I'd enjoy all of those things. I think you're targeting the game/media geek. (Though the binary clock would kick ass!)

I might like

-a subscription to winex
-some ram (though a lot of nerds have the slots filled)
-a domain name
-wireless keyboard/mouse, optical
-quality speakers
-an e-card (haha, yeah right)
-a new video or sound card
-an old pII that can be run as a server
-etc.

I'm only scratching the surface here, but you get the point. My preferences. You've got to know the nerd your dealing with before buying the gift.

Correct. Of course I'm not a big hardware nerd. I do wear a flash drive at all times, but I'm mainly the scifi nerd.

If you want a PII to run as a server, I can hook you up. I got an old one in my closet. Send me three Krispy Kreame donuts, five hundred dollars, and the head of Britney Spears; and it shall be yours.

Indeed.
