In a circuit with AC voltage and serial coupling of a coil and a capacitor, there is supposed to be a "resonance" frequency of some kind. Can anyone explain this and a solution?

Can anyone explain this and a solution? AndersHermansson 05-29-03, 11:15 AM Found it! f = 1 / 2pi(LC)^1/2 James R 05-29-03, 11:35 PM Yep. This is a series LC circuit. MacM 06-04-03, 09:45 AM AndersHermansson, Found it! f = 1 / 2pi(LC)^1/2 Yes. The resonance frequency occurs when Xl = Xc at which point Z (Impedance) is minimum. Any physical circuit has some R (resistance). The "Impedance" (resistance dynamically) of the circuit at resonance is: Z = (R^2+(Xl-Xc)^2)^.5 |
