    Hi everyone.
I've got a one-of-a-kind friend who I want to buy a gift for. We've known each other since childhood and I've never seen her lose her temper or be mean to anyone. To me she's precious.

She loves anything to do with the American Indian culture. This is a subject I sadly know nothing about.

Anyone with ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated. Remember though, that I'm in Australia so I'd have to find a specialty shop.

    Can anyone help?

    Cheers,
    Teri

Not sure you can buy stuff in there

But it's a good thought. Possibly going to the museum would give me some ideas. But would a Sydney museum have anything on American Indian stuff?
Do you know anything about their traditions? or artifacts?

    Asguard

I've been away for a couple of weeks. I adore your new avatar. It's what I had been contemplating for ages. When you get tired of it would you consider tossing it my way? I wonder if you could get the stars to twinkle a little within the galaxy?

    Cheers
    Teri

Try a book, which you can find from the internet. Indian mythology, traditions, or crafts comes to mind at first thought.

A book is a great idea but I want the gift to say 'you are my BEST friend'. I'd like it to be something she can put on her desk or shelf and cherish it. It's important that I let her know that.

Write a personal note in the fly page and date it.

There are some really nice ones out there.

The kind in the rolled tube works wonders for this kind of work.
Allows you to hang your book from the ceiling.

I don't think we have the kind in the rolled tube in Oz, can I make my own?

    Teri 2 ...

She might appreciate a Hopi (SW tribe) Kachina Doll.

    Take care

I went to a Pow Wow recently and found an awesome Aztec Calendar. It was a huge ceramic calendar and it looks really neato on my wall - all for only 20 bucks! You could probably find one in a speciality store.

    Good luck!

On a serious note, I found a reproduction of the mayan calander in ceramic. Very interesting if you are into that sort of stuff...
