Imagine a post-apocalyptic scenario in which we are all blown back to the stone age, we have no access to modern tools, machines, equipment etc., except that we have full knowledge of present-day technology. Understanding this knowledge, what steps would be necessary in the development of
technology in order to build a digital (silicon-chip based) computer as we know them today? Could we skip any steps (like, creation of fire, the wheel, the industrial revolution, etc.) that were involved in the evolution of present technologies and move
directly from primitive tools to elentric and then electronic technologies?

I would have to say no, since we would have to have some basic metallurgical tools in place.

Assuming the task is to create a computer (why, i dont know) the basic materials would need to be found. You would then have to get some tools to make chip boards etc. Your then sorted all you have to do is make the thing. You could skip everything else that is not related to the task.

why would anyone build a computer in that kind of a place? surely you would have learnt your lesson already?

surely only with the help of computers could that kind of destruction haved been caused!
