Ozymandias 03-16-04, 09:42 PM For the less learned of the sciforumers: aphrodisiac 1 : an agent (as a food or drug) that arouses or is held to arouse sexual desire 2 : something that excites And no, I don't know any others. gendanken 03-16-04, 10:51 PM Quigly: I heard that asparagus is an aphrodisiac. Is this true? What other foods are? Baby flesh is said to be incredibly arousing, specifically the kind that comes packaged like the Gerber baby. Preppies are also said to stimulate nads when stirfied with onions so long as one cooks them with their cardigans and golfing shoes on. Christians and Muslims, as has been scientifically shown, can induce multiple orgasms if chopped up and fried with their Bibles. Not so with the Muslims, but the recipe is still aphrodisiatic (sp?) without the Quaran. Q25 03-22-04, 09:49 PM I heard that asparagus is an aphrodisiac. Is this true? What other foods are? Ive heard that raw oysters are an aphrodisiac, however never had a chance to try them yet. SwedishFish 03-22-04, 09:59 PM mary juana is a natural aphrodisiac. foods aren't. Nebuchadnezzaar 03-23-04, 02:15 AM mary juana is a natural aphrodisiac. foods aren't. Yes they are, oysters are aphrodisiacs, so is some honey. Dreamwalker 03-23-04, 09:27 AM I have heard that chocolate or some of its ingrediants are aphrodisiacs, just as honey, eggs, truffles and ice-cream. Personally I do not believe in it, but perhaps believing is all that it takes. cosmictraveler 03-23-04, 09:52 AM No foods that I have ever eaten, not smoked for no one smokes their food, has ever given me sexual desires. So I'd say this isn't a true statement for myself that foods are aphrodisiacs but that doesn't mean to some others that eating oysters or anything else wouldn't be sexually exciting to them. I just have never heard of it happening from anyone of my friends or neighbors. Honey 03-23-04, 10:03 AM Garlic is considered an aphrodisiac by some, because it contains a mild stimulant and is thought to assist with maintaining an erection. Coffee & chocolate are also thought to be aphrodisiacs because of their stimulant content. Some people believe the chemicals in chocolate and red wine make an especially exciting combination. There are actually hundreds of foods that, for one reason or another, someone somewhere believes are aphrodisiacs. In my experience, damn near any substance can be an aphrodisiac, because so much of it happens in the brain. Introducing chemicals or stimulating chemical production is fun! :) But, whether or not a specific substance acts as an aphrodisiac on a specific individual depends on that individual's brain. Some things work for some folks & not for others. |
