I'm strongly against the idea of a national identity system.
If we had one card to do everything with, then if you could obtain this card illegally (bribing officals etc.) you could go wherever you wanted, and do whatever you want.
Who would police these systems?
If a terrorist gained access to one card. They could gain access to whatever they like, and noone would need to bypass checkpoints.
Thoughts?

the real id act.... is to make a real id.... its not that evil.
but it does take it to another level... americans are not used too.
but... if you have a birth certificate... your a 14h ammendament citizen.
that means you gave up your constituional rights, for priviledges and benefits from the new... illegal fed.
if you accept it.... your screwed......
enjoy.. your lack of freedom.
they love to wave the constitution in your face.....
its all bullshit.. you lost your rights in 1933.

You have social security number, don't you? Sure you have, you couldn't make a step without one. So what's the fuss about national ID? You are branded already, filed, stored, cataloged,... Admit it. SS#, as any other document, could be stolen, sold, etc.. Big surpise, huh? Your objections are somewhat similar with wishes of an old whore who insists on calling her a virgin no matter the facts.

I agree with the above post. Personal privacy went down the drain long time ago in the US, national IDs wouldn't make much difference.
Actually, it would be easier to avoid identification, because you only have to fake 1 document... :)
