    You biologist thinkers!

I'm developing an air filter that will also produce oxygen using water.

Can you find proof that a certain species of algae produces the most oxygen known?

Find that and the worth of this oxygen production/air filtering system will be made near complete. Maybe we can make some money as forum goers. Sciforums.com will keep record of who provides the most useful information and assistance to this invention.

Blue-green algae, cyano-bacteria, was touted as a possible method of terraforming the atmosphere of Venus by space-scientists in the 1960's.

Algae produce oxygen gas during photosynthesis, which involves sunlight shining on them as they float immersed in water.

How are you planning to set that up for air filtration?

Some of the blue-greens (cyanobacteria) work well as photosynthesizers, and certain species have been studied - the various tricks of growing them in captivity have been worked out. There are also "little green ball" varieties of Chlorella, a genus of green algae, that have been studied and domesticated and might work well. They are very efficient photosynthesizers, which implies high oxygen output per resource input.
