I don't like these "contests" because whatever you write becomes their property and they can reprint it without giving you anything for your work. Matter of fact they could do a little rewrite and sell a book for themselves and you don't even get recognized!

I'm not ready to write a 50,000 story, but that forum they got going over there is great for writing tips, practicing, and meeting people in your area for writing. Thanks Jennie for showing us :)

To cosmictraveler:
1. It's not a contest - they call it winning if you reach 50,000 words or even if you finish novel short of that. But they want you to set out for that goal if you can.
2. Your story doesn't have to been seen by anyone but you. You don't even have to put your story's title on there just keep up the word counter so it'll show your progress.
3. Check things out futher before posting things like that. You may have turned down half the people who liked the idea but didn't click the link yet.

You're welcome. And I don't know if I'll finish my story at 50,000 but i'll try and I hope you join everyone next year. I found this last year a week before the end of november but I tried a short story. This is my first real year and I hope I can do it. It'll be a great accomplishment.
