My local health care trust wants to prescribe me a drug that is not on their list of authorized drugs. Therefore, they have to do some form-filling etc.

Does anyone know how long this process normally takes?

You aren't after medicinal Cannabis are you? That's bound to generate layers of red tape, after all if a policeman was to search you, it would have to show in his database that you have a medical reason for using it which is why their is paperwork, there is also other factors like for instance no matter if it's cannabis or not, if it's not a drug usually used, then you are likely to become a "guinea pig" which means they will be watching you closely to see how your treatment effects you and if it's effective as a treatment.
