In my defense...If I was Greek I would offer an apology for the words on this website, since I am Roman in descent I will offer what is common of the Italians, a defense.

I find it quite amusing that people would consider me a Communist. I am not a Communist. It seems when anyone in America wants to insult someone or ostracize them, the easiest thing to do is call that person a Communist. When people say that so and so is a Communist, they usually mean that that person is Anti-American and they may also mean that that person is evil. Well I know that I am not considered by some here to be a person that thinks outside the box, but I am some one that sees this all as a line of crap used to push the real world away and keep it at arm's length. Perhaps you thought that sitting behind a monitor was a good way of keeping hidden from the world, staying invisible like a Korean woman working in the back of a take-out resturant because it feels safe, but guess what I see you and some of you are acting like babies and troublemakers.

But to tell you the truth I don't post here to fight but to share my thoughts because they may benefit you. To continue, anybody in our country or our splendid forum here that doesn't adhere to the "party line" is immediately dubbed a Communist whether this is granted or whether they really know what a Communist is. The truth of the matter is that what they are really saying through their sly and clever rhetoric is that I am for collective ownership and that I feel that this forum should belong to everyone that posts here. I never said this and I don't want to own this place, control it or have power within it. But there the people go again on this site, everytime I act, they can only react, simply because they can't get beyond master/slave relationships. Truthfully, I am not Communist but if your version of democracy, liberty, freedom, capitalism, and justice is so tied to this notion of master vrs. slave, then you are never going to be free and I really don't have anything to teach you, nor am I willing to waste my time.

What I am saying here is that I don't want to be the boss here and tell people what to do or what to think. I truly don't care about those things because people are going to think what they want to think anyway. My only goal is to speak my own variety of truth which is a common sense truth and which is one that definitely fits in to a certain extent with the way the world actually works. But if you out there in control-freak land can't overcome your egotistic attitude towards the world and listen and grow and learn from someone else for a change, then there is no hope for you anyway.

Elbaz, I am speaking my mind here about what is important to me, I have never read a computer generated message like this, maybe you have never thought about the things I wrote in this post but they do effect your life here and everywhere else, whether you understand or see what I am speaking about or not.

Trust me Charles Fleming, what I write is the best for everyone that wants to get their truth across in the world we live in. I hardly do anything that is totally for myself. You know that you may think that you have and enjoy freedom of speech in the country or world you live in but their are alot of blockades and infringements on it that you may have never taken notice of.

I only post here because the people here do have a basic respect for "freedom of speech", without that you would never even see ideas such as mine on a site like this. That we value freedom of speech is the one and perhaps only thing that all of us on this forum have in common or at least I haven't run across a poster who doesn't value it.

i believe in the theory behind communism.....can't work in this day and age....but to come up with it....is really something.

The purpose of my post was really not to discuss what Communism is or is not, but to show that calling someone a Communist is an attack hurled at anybody especially in the US that speaks anything but the most common opinions, whether they are of a political nature or otherwise. In other words, to show that it is a charge without depth, no pun intended.

i never quite understood what was the big deal in being called a communist.....or why americans take it so seriously.

if someone calls you something which has no basis in fact....ignore him/her.

when someone calls you a Communist everybody else mindlessly agrees with them, perhaps for their own personal reasons, and I guess you don't know the history of this country (the US). We had what was called the "Red Scare" which was basically a ploy to hunt out all the Communists and to detain them, make them look bad and ruin their reputation. So usually if someone calls you a Communist, it does not mean that someone is going to come and take you away, but it should put up a flag in your mind (and not nec. a red one :)) that they are trying to ruin your reputation, get rid of you and perhaps if they are savage enough, destroy you. Therefore you see why I take rhetoric like theirs very personally.

To reiterate: I notice that most people get called Communist not because they are actually Communists but more because people know that is a good way to put people down, because most Americans look at Communist as bad, and so once put down they don't have to think about what these people are saying. On a secondary and related note, I don't really think their are many people that would really consider themselves Communists anymore anyway, considering what a terrible thing it turned out to be in practice, i.e. in reality, so this all the more supports my argument that the word is primarily used to put down people that have new or different ideas.

Fredx i guess you should just ignore what people say. As you have noticed that mostly everyone doesn't care what is said about them but many still defend themselves vigriously. I say just ignore what people say...sure it's easier said then done but be the bigger person and try it...although i should stop because i don't believe a word of the advice i am giving but even fools speak wisdom when the wise grow foolish in power.

Also off topic but here goes-

Actually Communism seems pretty amazing on paper. It is hated so much because it's has never really been put in use the way it was intended to. Every time it has been implemented it has been molded to fit the needs of the power hungry leaders.
