These are the classes I am taking this semester:

Linear Algebra
Differential Equations
Number Theory
Then some random philosophy class I signed up for to go full-time. I have no clue what it is about.

That's it.

Yay for me.

How do you expect to be succesful if you take such nerdy classes?

I'm a math major. I guess I could be like everyone else I know and take accounting.

Girls like engineers. Nice and safe...mainly safe.

Math is meaningless.

lol...

Fine. I think I had enough of people telling me to do so.

Oh?

It was a quote from my Math teacher at University. I asked him what an equation in one of his notes meant, and he said its meaningless. And then he went on about how all Math is meaningless.

Absane

Meaningless in what way? What did he say?

Math surely doesn't refer to reality very well but there is a strong correlation that we can use math to understand reality and make use of it.

Most people will never use the mathematics they learn, but some do. In either case, mathematically thinking is good for problem solving.

i save mine to a folder called scipms on my harddrive.
the sent ones i prefix with 's'.
the received ones i prefix with 'r'.
that way i still have them.
of course they are on another partition than my OS 'just in case'.

I thought I was receiving a PM? I deleted every PM I ever had just for you.

:(

One can argue that life, and all of existence, are meaningless too.

Meaningless in what way? What did he say?

In that in itself it means nothing.

"2" doesnt mean anything.

"2 chickens" does, however.

i beg to differ.
i see no meaning in chickens.

You need 2 chickens to make an egg...well..one chicken and a 'male' chicken commonly known as another word.

Kat9Lives

How are you ever going to learn something if you do a little of everyting?

Kat9Lives

i say it's better to know a little about a lot rather than a lot about a little.

well politics and history are the closest linked things i could find

How are you ever going to learn something if you do a little of everyting?

You kind of have to do that for your core classes. My freshman year consisted of:

government, economics, psychology, philosophy, critical thinking, physics, calculus, english, evironmental sciences... ect.

It's called Core. Basically you do High School all over again, only in 2 years or less.

Now I am pretty much all mathematics until I feel like graduating.

When I went to university I did biology 24/7.

I've heard that European universities are more focused.
