I cant remember the name of the movie. But the basic premisis was that this guy would dream, and his dream would become reality. It was made for tv a few years ago, maybe for AMC or AndE or something... I just dont remember the name of it. Anyone know?

    Dark City.

    [edit]
Ohh, made for TV. Oops. Wrong one then. Though that was the Twist at the end of Dark City. Oops, just spoiled the ending.

Sounds rather like the premise of a film called The Lathe of Heaven, adapted from a story by Ursula K. Le Guin .

Original version, 1980... saw it on Public Television some years later.

    Remade for A&E, 2002...

crap... computer glitch locking up browser.

Google the title for more info.

    Quite interesting.

If I recall the plot correctly, the young man altering the world with his dreams is either checked into some sort of institution, or seeks the services of a psychoanalyst of some sort because he alone reamins unaffected by the changes, and thinks he's going nuts because he keeps waking up to a "new world". The doc eventually attempts to "play God" and right all the world's wrongs by channeling the dreamer's subconscious activity to solve what he perceives as society's major problems.

My memories of the specifics are a bit fuzzy...

I think the doc eventually tries to "cut out the middle man", and have the young fellow dream that the doc can change reality, so he can almost literally "play God", at which point the dreamer "rebels", and instead dreams the doc is a harmless kook living in an institution, that he himself can no longer alter the world with his dreams, and that a girl who he has been fascinated with the whole time falls for him. (awww...)

Not sure how much of that is spot on...
I seem to have recollections of the two versions mixed up in my head.

    LoL
