My great uncle sent me this link, and it is one of those things that confirms my love of the internet. A woman took a tour of Chernobyl on her motorcycle. The whole thing is fascinating, at least to me.

I've considered the possibility that it is a hoax, but I'm convinced it is for real.

I don't really consider it to be a condemnation of nuclear power, because as we all know that plant wasn't a very good design, and the test that led to the accident was pure lunacy.

But it is a chilling look at the ongoing tragedy of the meltdown and its consequences.

Irony, with our environment unfriendly ways we have created paradise for wildlife in Chernobyl to thrive, however, most animals have by design shorter lifes and higher breeding rates than humans, so while it is possible a lot of animals are affected by the radiation but population as a whole continious to grow.

Having a relatively isolated population in such a specific radioactive environment, it would be interesting to study the genetic adaptions that will occur.

Saw that on slashdot some time ago. It's a great read.
