What's telling about that article is that the church leaders specifically replied and accepted Cheney as the commencement speaker. It would be tantamount to accepting Clinton as the commencement speaker immediately post-bj. But apparently it's not intended as a political statement.

I know quite a few Utah Mormons (I'm marrying into a Utah Mormon family), and although they are what you say, they also tow the party line as well as, if not with even more gusto than, any other group.

A Mormon Democrat in Utah is among the smallest minority in this country.

i don't think Cheney is that conservative on social issues. his daughter is a lezzie who has a child with her "wife" or whatever... and he's always been a supporter ... or a non-condemner of her and her life style.

Giuliani will probably get the nomination... he's a social liberal (c'mon... he comes from New Yowk), America's mayor, good with taxes, good with defense, and is a uniter... not a divider like Hillary.

as for Mormons -- apparently Mormons and Evangelicals hate eachother.. or rather, Evangelicals hate Mormons, and Evangelicals are the base of GOP. i think they'll more likely vote for a social liberal like Giuliani than some nappy-headed ho democrats (i just love that phrase :rolleyes:)
